After playing a slow innings of 77 runs off 110 balls, Najmul Hossain Shanto posted it on his verified Facebook page calling his innings “remarkable”.

In the sixth match of Champions Trophy, Bangladesh played against New Zealand on Monday in a much important do or die match at Rawalpindi.

Bangladesh was asked to bat first by New Zealand after they (B) lost the toss.

Coming to bat Bangladesh had a steady start with both openers Najmul Hossain Shanto and Tanzid Hasan Tamim building the innings slowly. But Tamim departed just when it was becoming interesting for Bangladesh, during the ninth over after scoring 24 runs of 24 balls.

At this point Bangladesh were at 45 at the loss of one wicket.

However, from this point Shanto started to build his innings. Wickets kept falling on the other end but Shanto took his time and was well settled in the crease but his innings came to an end after he scored 77 runs off 110 balls.

But this is where the drama begun, right after getting out after his long innings of 110 balls, he posted on his verified Facebook page claiming that his innings was "Remarkable" and that he had silenced those who doubted him.

Many fans throughout the social media didn’t hold back and started to joke about this post as his strike rate was incredibly low for ODI format.

Not only that Shanto scored runs after a while and instantly posted about it. Netizens and cricket fans did not take it well and started to troll Shanto even more.

And the post instantly took over social media and attracted 27,000 reacts within 50 mins, 17,000 of which were HAHA reacts.

Can Najmul Hossain Shanto actually silence them by showing a consistent display or will he again disappear after scoring runs in an innings? Only time will tell.

When this report was written Bangladesh ended their innings at 236/8 and New Zealand were still to start their chase.
